United Methodist Neighborhood Centers of Memphis issues appeal for groceries and monetary gifts

Groceries and monetary gifts for United Methodist Neighborhood Centers of Memphis (UMNCM) are being sought during the current public health crisis as a result of the Coronavirus (Covid-19).

This is according to a March 15 appeal from Dr. Mark Matheny, president of the Board of Directors of UMNCM, an agency of the Memphis Conference of The United Methodist Church.

“We share with all of you our prayers during this unprecedented crisis in public health and economic hardship. Our Miriam (childcare) Center is under mandatory closure and we are taking all possible safety precautions," reported Matheny.

“At the same time, by God’s Grace, we are hoping to be helpful with emergency food distribution through our food pantry partners as needs may intensify among the poor and homeless.”

Matheny said monetary gifts may be sent to UMNCM at Box 111348, Memphis, TN, 38111
