United Methodist Neighborhood Centers is partnering with 'Fishes and Loaves'

By Dr. Mark Matheny, United Methodist Neighborhood Centers

Beginning June 1, United Methodist Neighborhood Centers (UMNC)will be working in cooperation with FISHES AND LOAVES, a food pantry ministry working out of the former Everett Memorial United Methodist Church at 258 North Merton in Memphis.

FISHES AND LOAVES is led by Michael Anderson with support from Rev. Jeff Irwin and a strong team of volunteers. Families and individuals in need are provided emergency food assistance up to once a month.

FISHES AND LOAVES opens every Tuesday and Friday from 8 to 11 a.m. No zip code restrictions are applied.

We feel this partnership is an answer to prayer now that UMNC is no longer able to operate at our former property on Walnut Grove in Memphis.

Please help by spreading the word about this in your congregation and encouraging continuation of food donations.

Food donations may be delivered at the end of any Tuesday or Friday session to FISHES AND LOAVES. An east side entrance is used at “The Commons” on Merton, four blocks north of Poplar and one block east of N. Hollywood.

If you need a different time or need us to pick up your donation, call 901-428-4633.
