Three churches together honor individuals and institutions for being 'beacons of hope'

Hughlett United Methodist Church in Tigrett, TN, Lighthouse United Methodist Church in Alamo, TN, and Ross United Methodist Church in Dyersburg, TN, together hosted their Seventh Annual Honors and Awards Program and reception on Sunday Nov. 18, at Hughlett UMC.

Individuals representing educational institutions, non-profits, financial institutions, the medical profession, armed services, and Greek organizations made up this year’s honorees, according to Rev. James Luvene, who pastors the three churches.
Honorees were recognized for being "beacons of hope" and making contributions to their communities, churches and and country. They included Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Bancorp South of Alamo, TN, Monique Casey-Bolden, Tonda Emerson, Shirley Miles, Lydia Nicks, Ike Peel, Benita Simmons, Peggie Swift, Logan Twitty, Sherry Webb, and Kim Worley.
