Signpost Groups Explore Antiracism and Discipleship

3/11/2021

Are you interested in exploring what it means to be an antiracist?

Consider joining a Signpost group!  Signposts is a covenant discipleship opportunity for lay and clergy to support and mentor one another while exploring God’s dream for an antiracist, anti-oppressive world.  Through a commitment to spiritual disciplines, personal written reflection on the weekly readings, and disciplined discussion, groups will examine themes of White supremacy, individual and systemic racism, and oppression and work to recognize and deconstruct their power in our own lives. As we intentionally shine light in our own dark places, we hope to encourage and empower others to become signposts who help light up the darkness in families, neighborhoods, and God’s world.

Signposts is a commitment to 20-weeks of self-reflection in 2, 10-week sessions.  Groups will be held virtually and limited to 7 persons including 2 facilitators, who are also members of the group.  Signposts 1 starts the week of April 11 and ends the week of June 13th.  Signposts 2 starts the week of July 18 and ends the week of September 26th. These dates are approximate as each group will work out a calendar with group facilitators.
