The event took place Aug. 15 at the church with Brandon Shields, sports editor and lead high school football writer for The Jackson Sun newspaper, as the speaker.

More than 140 boosters, students, community leaders, school administrators, players, cheerleaders, and dance team members participated, according to a report from the church.

The team and guests enjoyed food provided by a local restaurant, the United Methodist Men and United Methodist Women of Ross UMC, and the Quarterback Club.
