Music Fest Nets $4,100 for Reelfoot Rural Ministries

Purchase District mass choir raises $4,100 for Reelfoot Rural Ministries.

More than 66 voices from around the Purchase District of the Memphis Conference of The United Methodist Church helped raise $4,100 for Reelfoot Rural Ministries when they formed a mass choir at the 12th annual Music Fest benefit on Sunday, March 3.

The event took place at Concord United Methodist Church, in Paducah, Kentucky.

The mass choir performed two choral pieces and each church choir performed one selection of their own choosing. Two praise bands and one concert band also participated.

Lyz Hornbeak, choir director at Concord UMC, served as director of the mass choir. Accompanist was Chris Beal.

In addition to the $4,100 raised at the event, some churches reported they will be sending additional funds to the district office.
