A retreat for girls (ages 13 to 17) was held March 30-31 at Fyrne Lake Lodge in Dyersburg, Tennessee. Its purpose was to focus the girls on "living as Christians" and "growing in their faith in Jesus."

The retreat was presented by Girls United, an outreach ministry of Lighthouse United Methodist Church in Alamo, Tennessee, and Ross United Methodist Church in Dyersburg, Tennessee. Participants were from Crockett and Dyer Counties.

The weekend's activities included hearing from older, professional women about their faith stories, as well as playing games and making friends.

Girls United helps participants "grow and mature mentally, spiritually, socially and emotionally" in their homes, schools and communities.
