Free job interview preparation class begins Sept. 12; it's offered to public by Christ UMC in Memphis


Are you unemployed and looking for a job (or know someone who is), but not sure where to start? The Career Transition Support Group at Christ United Methodist Church in Memphis, Tennessee, wants to help!

Led by David Lanthier, a human resources executive with 30+ years experience, the group meets at the church on Tuesdays from 9-10:30 a.m. in Dunnam 335. 

In addition to providing encouragement and networking opportunities, this ongoing group helps participants prepare resumes, identify transferable skills and discover attributes/skills employers desire. The group is free and open to the public.

Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 12, the Career Transition Support Group is starting a 10-week training program on job interview preparation.This comprehensive course will include these topics:

  • Resume Design for Interviewing
  • Questions to Ask During a Phone Interview
  • Answering Difficult Interview Questions
  • Preparing for Behavioral-Based Interview Questions
  • Selling Yourself and Closing the Deal 
  • Negotiating Compensation 
  • Post-Interview Evaluation
