April 15 is the deadline to apply for the Walter Russell Lambuth (1854-1921) undergraduate and graduate scholarships for the 2020-21 academic year, according to an announcement from the Memphis Conference Board of Higher Education and Campus Ministry.
This scholarship(s) is open to students attending schools related to The United Methodist Church through the United Methodist General Board of Higher Education and Ministry.
Up to $4,500 will be awarded for the 2020-21 academic year to one or more qualified applicants, according to Cindy Lowe, chair of the Memphis Conference Board of Higher Education and Campus Ministry.
Recipients will be determined by the executive committee of the Memphis Conference Board of Higher Education and Ministry.
Award amounts vary from year to year, based on investment performance of the scholarship fund that is managed by the United Methodist Foundation for the Memphis and Tennessee Conferences.
The Lambuth scholarship fund was created after the closing of Methodist-affiliated Lambuth University in Jackson, Tennessee, in 2011. The Lambuth campus is now part of the University of Memphis.
