Science-themed kids camp is part of childcare available during 2014 Memphis Annual Conference

Childcare during the 2014 Memphis Annual Conference will be offered all day every day and for the first time ever include a science-themed kids camp for preschool through fifth graders.

Sue Engle of the Paducah District Host Committee said the kids camp is an attempt to offering programming that will appeal to families and make it easier for them to attend Annual Conference.

May 18 is the deadline to register.

Kids Camp for preschool through fifth graders will take place Monday through Wednesday, June 2-4, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Broadway UMC at 701 Broadway in Paducah.

Event literature says children will “learn about God while participating in science experiments.” Science educator Jason Lindsey of “Hooked on Science,” known as “Mr. Science,” will work with the children.

During the same hours as kids camp, Broadway UMC will provide separate childcare for children under preschool age.
Additionally, childcare at Broadway UMC will be offered during the following evening events:

  • Evening Memorial Worship Service: Sunday, June 1, 7 p.m.
  • Evening Worship Service: Monday, June , 7 p.m.
  • Evening Ordination Worship Service: Tuesday, June 3, 7 p.m.
