Students, faculty and staff at Martin Methodist College in Pulaski, Tennessee, raised more than $5,100 to assist persons affected by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, according to a media release from the United Methodist school.
Though not inside the boundaries of the Memphis Conference of The United Methodist Church, MMC is located next door in the Tennessee Conference, also part of the Nashville Episcopal Area of The United Methodist Church.
On Friday, Sept. 15, MMC students and school personnel assembled more than 75 cleaning kits (buckets) with disaster relief supplies purchased with the donations.
The cleaning kits are being sent to the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) warehouse in Decatur, Alabama, the media release said.
