Paralegals making a difference

Our last free legal clinic was at Friendship United Methodist Church in Millington. We had 43 clients, with 17 attorneys, ten paralegals and one law school student in attendance. Pastor Cynthia Davis and her husband were very excited and prepared well in advance for a successful event. They were incredible hosts. These events are a partnership, and it takes both for a successful event.

Thank you, Pastor, for opening your doors and allowing us to help those in the Millington community.

We also had a surprise visit from Stephanie Scurlock from News Channel 3. She was with us for about an hour and seemed very excited about promoting upcoming free legal clinics. Lisa Kelly and Art Quinn from the Memphis Bar Association were interviewed on camera. Lisa and Art did an incredible job explaining why these are so important for the community.

The next Shelby County event is scheduled for April 4 at the Ben Hooks Library, 3030 Poplar Ave. The April event will have a delayed starting time of 9:30am and the extended ending time will be 12:30pm.
