Memphis Conference agencies, ministries invited to participate in 'Alternative Christmas Gift Catalog'

Plans are underway to set up the second annual online "Alternative Christmas Gift Catalog" on the Memphis Conference website.

The online catalog will provide links to information about gift-giving opportunities offered during November and December 2016 by Memphis Conference agencies and ministries.

"I am delighted to commend our United Methodist ministries for your giving this season. They serve the least, last and lost of our area. Each honors Christ in their ministry," said Rev. Dr. Joe Geary, director of Memphis Conference Connectional Ministries.

Each gift-giving opportunity listed must benefit the agency or ministry named and be an opportunity for gift giving related to Christmas 2016. Submissions will be subject to review before inclusion.

To be included, agencies and ministries must submit their information in one of two ways by Tuesday, Oct. 18, to

  • Provide a URL link to complete information located on the agency/ministry website or Facebook page. This should not be a link to a general donation page, but a link to a distinct gift-giving opportunity for the 2016 Advent/Christmas season.  OR
  • Provide a PDF/JPG file with complete information about a distinct gift-giving opportunity for Advent/Christmas 2016. This should not be a general donation information.
Because the online catalog on the Memphis Conference website will provide links directly to information on separate websites or Facebook pages or in separate PDF/JPG file documents, it is important that the agency/ministry be thorough in answering all questions anyone might have about the gift-giving opportunity.
