A kids camp and nursery entertained and cared for 17 children during the 2015 Memphis Annual Conference in June.
Jackson First UMC in Jackson, Tenn., hosted the childcare services
Jenni Thorn, director of children’s ministry at Jackson First UMC, worked with Kristi Richardson from Northside UMC in Jackson and Lisa Powell from Grace UMC in Jackson to provide the camp and nursery. The nursery cared for children ranging from infants to 3-year-olds, and the camp accepted children from preschool through the fifth grade.
Thorn said the camp involved fun daily activities such as Bible study, crafts and recreation, along with field trips to Tennessee Safari Park in Alamo, Tenn., and Jackson area attractions.
The camp had seven fewer participants than its first offering during the 2014 Memphis Annual Conference in Paducah, Ky.
