13th annual 'Hunters for the Hungry' Golf Benefit by UMM of Bolivar First UMC is set for Sept. 23
By Larry Ross, Volunteer HFTH Coordinator
The United Methodist Men of Bolivar First United Methodist Church in Bolivar, Tennessee, will again partner with the Tennessee Wildlife Federation (TWF) for its 13th annual "Hunters for the Hungry" (HFTH) Golf Tournament on Saturday, Sept. 23, at the Hardeman County Golf & Country Club.
Proceeds from the benefit event provide additional nutrition to Hardeman County families. In 2016, over 3,000 lbs. of venison burger was distributed to families in need in Hardeman County.
The HFTH program is part of a state-wide program that donated 147,000 lbs. of enison burger in 2016 to food banks and soup kitchens throughout the state of Tennessee. Although this program is overseen by the TWF and Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, this program would not happen without volunteers and donors.
