"Rona”-cise, children’s stay-at-home story time, Sunday School, church-wide studies and piano play dates are examples of how Martin First United Methodist Church (FUMC) is “remotely” serving its community during the COVID-19 uncertainty.

Martin First UMC is located in Martin, Tennessee, in the Mississippi River District of the Memphis Conference of The United Methodist Church.

Since April 1 (no fooling) all of Martin FUMC’s activities have been based and initiated away from the church building, basically in the homes of staff and congregation members.

The church website brings the community daily devotionals, Sunday services and opportunities for giving offerings while Facebook keeps the youth interacting and engaged.
Some folks are experiencing frustration as they try to "unflatten" their technological learning curve, but by the Grace of God, and the work of the Holy Spirit, they are learning new ways to serve their church community. To God be the Glory!

How is your Memphis Conference church/congregation adjusting & adapting to social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic? What new ways have you found to worship, share devotions & hold Bible study? How are you continuing to serve & reach out to your community? What new technologies are you learning & embracing to communicate & maintain your connection? Share your stories & pictures! Any word count is acceptable, but 100 to 200 words is ideal. Please include who, what, when, where, why & how. Email
