United Methodist Foundation for Memphis and Tennessee Conferences is ready to help with financial needs during & after COVID-19 emergency
During the current time of uncertainty due to the COVID-19 health emergency, The United Methodist Foundation for the Memphis and Tennessee Conferences and Development Fund wants to assure the public it is fully functioning and ready to help with financial needs.
Rev. Dr. Philip Jamieson made this announcement in a media release on Sunday, March 22.
“We are processing your deposits as usual and will be happy to assist with any transactions or questions you may have. All staff are checking and replying to emails regularly and are returning voicemails promptly. Please let us know how we may serve you and thank you for your trust and confidence in us,” said Jamieson, who also offered his contact information: 615-259-2008 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Jamieson, an ordained elder in The United Methodist Church, also shared the below scripture and message:
"For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:
a time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
a time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;
a time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
a time to throw away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
a time to seek, and a time to lose..." (Ecclesiastes 3:1-6)
The author of Ecclesiastes reminds us that as unprecedented as any time may appear to us, there is nothing new under the sun. (1:9) I must admit, I appreciate that text much more when the markets were continuing to grow as they were a mere two months ago. Still, the seasons come, and the seasons go, but our Lord remains faithful, "an ever present help,,,:" (Psalm 46:1)
