United Methodists are leaders and volunteers for April 7 'Memphis Cares 2'; more volunteers needed

When the special memorial and rededication service called Memphis Cares 2 happens on Sunday, April 7, at 3 p.m. at Crump Stadium in Memphis, Tennessee, local United Methodists will have been crucial in planning and executing this free inter-faith happening.

One of the speakers is Dr. James Lawson, retired United Methodist pastor and activist.
 
Dr. Mark Matheny, retired Memphis Conference elder, is coordinating the event with the team of Voices For Justice in the Mid-South, founded in 2017.
 
Rev. Jerome Scales, Jr. of Burdette Chapel United Methodist Church in Memphis has helped with website management, sound systems and volunteer choirs.
 
Volunteers from at least six different United Methodist churches will be involved.
