9 families receive Thanksgiving food assistance from Mt. Nebo UMC, thanks to Lenten Hunger Offering
2018 Lenten Hunger Offering (LHO) monies are already at work.
Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church in Decatur County, received a grant from the Tennessee River District, which received funds from the offering, along with the Memphis Conference’s other three districts.
The church used the funds it received to provide Thanksgiving food assistance to area families. Church member Ann Kolaski reported that food was bought for nine families made up of 1 to 6 people per family or 29 people in all.
Kolaski said all of the families thanked the church and were happy and grateful to receive the food. She described the families as “humble.” One woman “cried” and some children said they might come to church.
