The United Methodist News Service would like to speak to people with a sense of history who were at the uniting General Conference of The United Methodist Church in 1968.

2018 is the 50th anniversary of The United Methodist Church. The denomination formed on April 23,1968, in Dallas, Texas, by the union of The Methodist Church and the Evangelical United Brethren Church.

The United Methodist Church developed from the British Methodist revival movement led by John Wesley that was taken to the American colonies in the 1760s.
