The David Johnson Chorus will perform a Christmas concert at Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Jackson, Tennessee, on Saturday, Dec. 9
Now in its nineteenth year, the David Johnson Chorus, based in Dresden, TN, continues to present programs of music that appeal to all ages, especially their Christmas shows. The 2017 edition is called “Come Celebrate Christmas.”
“Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” “I Saw Three Ships,” and “O Holy Night” are but a few of the familiar selections. The second half of the concert will include the popular “Mary, Did You Know?” as recorded by Pentatonix. Four carols with origins in the Appalachian Mountains will weave a beautiful story of Christ taking the audience from “Wondrous Love” to “Go Tell It On the Mountain.” The intertwining of two timeless works, “The First Noel” and Pachelbel's “Canon” will also be presented.
General Manager, Gail Jercinovich, shared, “We are so excited to return again to the Aldersgate United Methodist Church. It has become a tradition that we look forward too each year. I hope everyone will join us!”
“This will be the fourth year for Aldersgate UMC to host The David Johnson Chorus,” says Mitzi Hamilton, communications team leader at the church.. “The Come Celebrate Christmas concert has turned into a wonderful community event here and a great way for the whole family to start off the holiday season.”
The concert is a free event to the entire community. There will be a cookie reception after the concert.
