As such, the Director should both embody and give leadership to the mission, vision and values of the Benton First United Methodist Church. The ministry among youth (grades 6-12) in this congregation is a vital witness to faith and an integral component of ministry and worship to the life of this congregation. It is expected that a person who administers the youth ministry will have faith in Christ, the desire to share the love of God through relational ministry with youth and their families, the ability to teach the scriptures of the Old and New Testament, and a willingness to be open and honest about faith and life.

Youth Pastor, Nashville Korean UMC, Nashville, TN
Nashville Korean United Methodist Church is seeking a Full-time or Part-time Youth Pastor who will lead and feed middle to high school students (grades 6-12) physically and spiritually. The ideal candidate we are looking for believes in the power of preaching, understands a double-cultured or multi-cultural context for discipleship, and helps to build the healthy, balanced image of Korean-American and/or American Christians for students under his or her ministry. Combined with interpersonal and inclusive character, our youth pastor will be expected to get a warm support both from our friendly students and from their respectful parents.
Responsibilities and Opportunities:
· Lead Worship Services-
Sunday Worship, Friday night Worship, and/or monthly Saturday Prayer Service
· Plan and organize youth activities, such as annual retreats and community outreach programs, among others.
· Develop and coordinate programs and activities to foster spiritual fellowship
· Train and mentor volunteers and/or volunteer leaders
· The youth pastor must have the ability and willingness to: Recruit, disciple, and sustain a large team of volunteer leaders, Engage parents as vital partners, teach and preach to youth and leaders in small and large settings. Communicate well with parents and come along side families, especially in times of crisis. Relate to the unique needs of teenagers.
Requirements:
· Graduated or expected to graduate from theological seminary or an accredited institution of Christian education
· Prior experience in working with youth as a plus
· Excellence in English and high level of willingness to understand Korean and Korean culture (required).
· Report to Senior Pastor
