Action Teams
The United Methodist Book of Discipline requires Annual Conferences to provide a framework of “connection” for local churches, conference entities, and United Methodist General boards and agencies—to carry out our shared mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ.
Over the last several years, the connectional table model has evolved and been implemented in much more streamlined, efficient and creative ways by other Annual Conferences. A new wave of restructuring is again taking place across the United Methodist Church in the many Annual Conferences.
The current structure of the Memphis Annual Conference continues our ability to facilitate ministries of nurture, outreach and witness, yet, in a way that focuses on our current, most pressing issues reflected in the following five priorities:
- Intentional Discipleship with Wesleyan Distinctiveness.
- Congregational Vitality and Revitalization
- Leadership Development
- Faith Community and New Church Development
- Outreach Advocacy
