Churches asked to remit all 2017 'Lenten Hunger Offering' monies to Treasurer's Office by July 31
The 2017 Lenten Hunger Offering (LHO) of the Memphis Conference wrapped up Easter Sunday, April 16, and so far $34,000 has been submitted to the Memphis Conference Treasurer’s Office.
“I want to thank the churches for their hard work and dedication to the LHO this Lenten season. We are well on our way to the $50,000 goal,” reports Dr. Debra S. (Debi) Selby, who leads the campaign for the 2016-20 quadrennium as the Memphis Conference’s world hunger advocate.
Selby encourages all churches that participated in the LHO campaign and have not yet remitted their offerings to the Memphis Conference Treasurer’s Office to do so by July 31.
“This allows for a more expedient delivery of funds to the intended recipients,” she said.
Dr. Joe Geary, director of connectional ministries for the Memphis Conference, reminds churches that the offering now returns more money to the conference’s four districts for church/local food pantries and feeding ministries.
Submit money to Memphis Conference Treasurer, PO Box 10667, Jackson, TN 38308-0111. Use Second Mile Giving on the monthly remittance statement. Please note "Lenten Hunger Offering."
